Should you become a CNA before getting your RN?

Will being a CNA prior or while enrolled help you in nursing school?

Until next time…

How to display your nursing credentials?

What goes where? Which is first and what do I include? Why?

Just remember that your academic degree is always first. And you list your credentials chronologically, most recent is closest to your name.

The proper order:
-Highest earned degree (BSN, MSN, PhD, DNP, etc.)
-Licensure (RN, CRNP, CRNA, etc)
-State designations or requirements (APRN, CRNP, etc.)
-National certifications (ACNP-BC, CCRN, CEN, etc.)
-Awards and honors (…. EMT, PHRN, etc.)
-Other recognitions (BLS, ACLS, ect.)

**P.S. Can you tell this was one of my first videos…?  😂

Where do you find NP school preceptors? What NP certification exam should I take?

NP clinical rotations are not like RN school. You actually have to do the legwork. You have to make the arrangements and find a preceptor willing to teach. Here are 5 tips to help you find them:

1. Talk to the university
2. Talk to your classmates
3. Talk to the national organizations
4. Find help online (social networks)
5. Talk to employers

There are different certification exams you can take once you graduate. I have some thoughts on things you need to know when choosing your exam.
