How do you deal with that ‘mean’ doctor everyone avoids? NSFW

*NSFW*

That mean doctor everyone avoids. Or that mean colleague or coworker that just sucks the life out of everything around them. How do you deal with these people?

You will have to communicate with them, you work together. And I would hope you wouldn’t leave your job.. so how do you survive?

I offer my thoughts on dealing with these miserable souls:

1. Get over yourself.
2. Don’t let them see you sweat.
3. It’s not about who’s right or wrong.
4. Kill them with kindness.
5. Don’t raise your voice, elevate your argument.
6. Give respect to get respect.

Until next time…

How do you handle the bullying in nursing?

Here are three things I do to extinguish bullying:

  1. Don’t allow it
  2. YOU attack it head on
  3. Recruit help

I would highly recommend you figure things out early because the lateral violence and bullying is not going away anytime soon.
